Bayard Rustin Travel Fund for People of Color

Friends General Conference
The Bayard Rustin Fund provides funds to support travel for Friends of Color. This travel assistance may be for attendance at the FGC annual gathering, attendance at People of Color gatherings, or for travel to participate in committee work of FGC. The fund is designed to ensure that Friends of Color can fully participate in the work and retreat opportunities FGC offers. The fund was initiated by a generous gift from Friends for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Concerns.

Please answer the following questions fully. Your responses will be considered, with your identifying information removed, by a small group of Friends who are distributing the money in this fund. (If you are completing a printed form, please use the back side if you need extra room.)


3. Although you are not required to seek (or receive) funding from your monthly or yearly meeting, we would like to encourage meetings to give financial support to members and attenders to engage in the broader Quaker world.

Deadline for application: All applications received before March 20 will learn of funding grants before early registration opens for Summer Gathering. Later applications cannot be guaranteed funding. Where funding is sought for events other than Summer Gathering, please submit your application no later than one month prior to the first day of the event.
