Workshops & Events

The Gathering of Friends is a spiritual feast for all ages. Each day’s schedule is packed with an abundant array of options for worship, fun, fellowship, and spiritual deepening. It is impossible to see and do everything that happens at the Gathering. In fact, seasoned attenders stress the importance of not trying to do it all, instead scheduling intentional down time.

Weeklong workshops form the heart of the Gathering experience: the opportunity to deeply explore a topic with other Friends who share your interest, within an immersive atmosphere of sharing, trust, and respect. Your workshop group meets every morning. These daily sessions form a grounding mini-community throughout the week.

There are also special evening plenaries, interest groups, field trips, exhibits, film-screenings, performances, games, and dozens of activities organized by affinity groups and Quaker organizations.

Although many events are planned in advance, other activities will be scheduled during the week. Friends wishing to arrange for meeting space must make requests at the information desk during the Gathering. Spaces are reserved on a first come, first served basis, beginning on Sunday morning. Activities and meetings are announced in the Daily Bulletin.
