Join Junior Gathering Staff

General Information

Junior Gathering is made possible through the gifts and dedicated work of over 100 loving adults. Each group of children has an experienced Coordinator that takes the lead on planning the week for that group. At this time, we are currently still looking for support staff to work with the children during the morning (8:30 - 12:15) or evening (6:30 - 9:15) sessions.

Workgrants are available for both of these positions: $ 315.00 in the morning and $285.00 in the evening. Other volunteers serve in the afternoon at the Family Place or by helping with multigenerational activities.

Many Friends have found that serving Junior Gathering in one of these capacities is an enriching personal growth experience.

I’d like to work with Junior Gathering. What do I do?

Most Junior Gathering staff positions are full. If you would like to join the staff, please email a brief statement of interest to patsym@fgcquaker.org and she will put you on a waiting list.

After reading our staff expectations and job descriptions (Support Staff, K Group Workshop leader, K Group evening staff, Coordinator), complete a Junior Gathering Staff Application, which will let us know how best to place you to suit your interests and our needs.

In addition, because our volunteer hiring process has been re-written with an eye toward creating ever-safer environments for our children, everyone who works with Junior Gathering needs to complete a Reference Request Form, available below. (Those who worked in Junior Gathering in 2005, 2006 or 2007 need not complete the form.)

As soon as possible, email the reference form as an attachment to Patsy Arnold Martin (pat...@fgcquaker.org), Junior Gathering Coordinator. After you have submitted your application and reference form, expect to receive an email contact from her - or from one of the Junior Gathering Co-Clerks: Rebekah Rice and John Inman.
