Full Description

Why would a couple with a satisfactory relationship attend a Couple Enrichment workshop?

A couple’s relationship does not remain static; it is always changing. Taken for granted, it loses its spark. Its vitality depends on continuing growth. Couple Enrichment workshops help couples celebrate the joys and strengths of their relationship, and learn new ways of working on rough or neglected areas. Think of it as continuing education for your relationship!

What happens in a Quaker Couple Enrichment workshop?

A Quaker Couple Enrichment program is a relaxed, enjoyable experience. It is not a therapy session, not marriage counseling, and not an encounter group. It is designed for couples who have a serious commitment to each other that they wish to strengthen and deepen. Together we recognize and celebrate that of God in our partners, ourselves and our relationships.

The privacy of individuals and couples is respected. No one is asked to share something they do not wish to discuss in front of the group. No one is expected to participate in an activity that doesn’t feel right for them. We share with each other as we are led, in a safe and supportive environment.

Quaker Couple Enrichment programs are open to any committed couple, regardless of age, marital status, gender orientation or membership in the Society of Friends. Participants should be comfortable with Friends’ testimonies and practices.

Workshops are led by couples who have been trained by Friends General Conference in accordance with the standards of the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment.
