We want Friends to be able to meet for Meeting for Worship. The Meeting House will be open on Sunday, March 15 at 10:30am. We recognize that people may not wish to attend either because of their own health, their recent proximity to someone who may have been infected, or out of their concern for others whose health may be compromised.
Guided by the Light of our Quaker Peace Testimony, North Columbus Friends Meeting asserts that seeking peaceful resolution through nonviolent confrontation is always superior to aggressive measures. We make this statement in response to the recent actions taken by the United States Government, in contravention of international law, that culminated in the assassination of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Because North Columbus Friends Meeting is committed to only non-violent resolution of conflict, we condemn this murderous hostility and the escalation of conflict.
Would you like to be part of a small group of NCFM folks (4-6 people) who gather together for dinner to get to know one another better? The intention of Friendly Suppers, (a.k.a "Friendly Eight's" in many Quaker circles), is to support fellowship among us. In general, the structure is for each household in the group to facilitate one dinner gathering (generally in their homes, but could also be at the Meetinghouse if your home were not an option). The ad-hoc sanctuary committee is seeking donations of furniture and home goods to stock the kitchen and small bedroom upstairs with the relevant materials.
