Beverly Ward – How I Get Over: My Journey towards Peace and Justice in Care for the Earth
“My sense of spiritual wonder and connectedness with creation and my faith have and will continue to lead me in care for the Earth.” Beverly invites everyone to join her in work on a 1,000 Year Planning Model (just a little longer than seven generations) for an Earth restored.

Becoming an Anti-Racist Faith Community
The incidents of racism experienced by Friends of Color over the years, culminating at the 2016 Gathering (and the subsequent Petition signed by over 350 Friends seeking to understand how systemic racism is infused in FGC), moved FGC Friends to conduct an Institutional Assessment on Systemic Racism. Songwriter, Folksinger, Storyteller, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Quaker – John McCutcheon will be performing at Gathering for our Wednesday night all-ages concert.
Thursday Night
Tony Fish – Prisoner Re-Entry, Making a Difference
Tony Fish is an enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and serves as Director of the tribes Reintegration Program. Tony received his education from Mid-America Christian University studying Criminal Justice Management and Public Administration. In March of 2005, Tony assisted in the development and implementation of the first ever tribal reintegration program for ex-prisoners.

Love Thy Neighbor (No exceptions): Advocating for Welcome, Not Walls
The Friends Committee on National Legislation has a long history of federal advocacy on immigration policies and F/friends across the country are lobbying legislators, protesting unjust policies and practices, and building community with our neighbors of all backgrounds. This conversation was on how advocates can faithfully love our neighbors (no exceptions) in our nation’s capital and in our local communities to bring about immediate and systemic changes for justice.
