Event Description

Join our Neurodivergent Friends gathering! We will worship together, build community, and share our experiences of the gifts and challenges of being neurodiverse folks among Friends. Over time we may explore what we need to fully engage in the life of our meetings; how to communicate our needs to our communities; ways that we experience the Divine; openings and blocks in meeting for worship; how to support Friends with other kinds of disabilities; and probably many other topics.

The discussion group will be held on Second Tuesdays at 7pm EST/ 4pm PT/ 1pm HT for 1.5 hours.
Please sign up here if you’re interested in participating. Drop in when you are able.

There is no registration fee required to attend this Spiritual Deepening offering.

This group will be led by Mary Linda McKinney

Mary Linda McKinney came to realize she had ADHD only after one of her teen children was diagnosed. About a decade ago, she learned about dyscalculia and understood that she wasn’t stupid or lazy but has an honest-to-goodness learning disability.

As an interfaith spiritual director, and workshop leader, she cares deeply about creating welcoming, inclusive spaces for Friends to show up as our authentic selves. She has a tight relationship with the Holy Spirit and absolutely believes that each one of us is uniquely created in the image of God; the more diverse our communities, the more we reflect the fullness of God’s creation.Mary Linda is the creator and facilitator of the Faithful Meetings program for the School of the Spirit. She lives in Greensboro, NC where she and her spouse Mark Wutka, are members of Friendship Friends Meeting/NCYM-C.
