We are excited to announce a new member to our staff at FGC. On March 27th, FGC welcomed Elizabeth Piersol Schmidt as the new Conference and Events Associate. She succeeds Susan Lee Barton, who has been promoted to Administrative Associate.

We are excited to announce a new member to our staff at FGC. On March 27th, FGC welcomed Elizabeth Piersol Schmidt as the new Conference and Events Associate. She succeeds Susan Lee Barton, who becoming our Administrative Associate. She comes to us as the former Young Adult Friends Coordinator for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (PYM). Many Friends will remember Elizabeth as program staff for the Junior Gathering and Adult Young Friends Program at the FGC Gathering, a role she has recommitted to every year since 2002. She also served as PYM’s representative to FGC’s Central Committee and Executive Committee for several years.

As our new Conference and Events Associate, Elizabeth will provide programmatic and administrative support for the FGC Gathering and event management for designated committee meetings. She will work closely with Gathering Conference Coordinator Ruth Reber, Junior Gathering Coordinator Patsy Arnold Martin, and many, many volunteers.

Elizabeth grew up Quaker in the Philadelphia suburbs and is a member of West Philadelphia Friends Meeting. In her non-work life, Elizabeth volunteers at a community boathouse in Southwest Philadelphia, performs aerial trapeze, and embraces the benefits of yoga to the fullest.
